I started my observing session at 4 a.m. It remains quite easy to find the comet because very noticeable despite the mist.
Around 4:45 a.m LT. it becomes analyzable. I tried the "Comet Filter" on only one of the two tubes of my binocular. (I only have one filter!...) Quite an interesting experience. The contribution is not huge. Perhaps he allowed me to distinguish a slightly elongated shape ???... And, a more punctual and more marked head than on the other tube not equipped ??...
This remark encourages me to try the observation with the 18 "tomorrow morning, if the sky allows it, to confirm all that!...
It gets quite high in the sky, and I was still able to see it quite well until 5:32 a.m. before the arrival of the morning lights...
By comparing with the pair of close stars BD and TYC I would give as dimensions 2' X 1',20 ???
Its magnitude would have evolved slightly over the past two days, passing, for me, to m= 9.3. (m= 9.6 on 08/20) It compared well with TYC 22 1634.
A little over an hour and a half of pleasant observation, with a temperature of 22°C. Great comfort!...
