Dobson 18"
21h UTC

Evening of Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023 (22:30 UTC) Visual magnitude of this evening m = 5.7 (HR 6034 UMi)
Almost perfect sky, C/2022 E3 (ZTF) announced m = 5.8. Observation with Dobsonian 18'' at X 60. With and without UHC Filter.
- With the naked eye we can perfectly perceive RR Umi m= 4.7 but we fear confusing this star with the Comet. We all agree that the comet is not perfectly visible to the naked eye.
- The luminous center is well defined and seems rather centered. With a progressively degraded Coma with a diameter of +/- 2'.5 (Adjusted on TYC 4186 1071)
- Followed by a fairly thin tail which gradually fades during small movements of the telescope, around SAO 16475 . Length = +/- 1°.8'
- Its magnitude has some surprises for us ???... With the nearby stars, we can adjust it quite well on the two HDs 231,359 m = 8.3 and 231,444 m = 7.9 ???... But we know, a star is punctual, and the comet has a surface magnitude...
