62P/Tsuchinshan 2023-Oct-16 Dan Bartlett

Comet 62P/ Tsuchinshan is captured here and has been estimated to be somewhere around 14th magnitude. At the time of this image the comet was a little closer to earth than 1au with perihelion projected to be on 25 December 2023. On perihelion 62P will be a mere 0.5 au from earth and may brighten considerably. The Starless versions hint at a tail extending faintly to the west.

To get a feel for the faintness of this comet imaged through a C14 @ F2, I've animated the 127 and 95 frames of 90 second images which can be viewed here:https://vimeo.com/876477586?share=copy
