Comet C/2020 S3 Erasmus
in the morning sky
November 28, 2020

This comet is diving into the Sun, and at around 8th magnitude was very difficult very low in the eastern horizon twilight. Barely 5 degrees up, the atmospheric extinction and huge amount of refraction made for a challenging imaging session! Here is 15 minutes with the Stellarvue SV80s at f/4.4, the Canon Xti at ISO 400 from my balcony on the second floor of my house. The comet just barely cleared the pine trees!

Lens: Stellarvue SV80s @f/4.4 - with Televue .8x FR/CC

Location: Payson, Arizona
Elevation: 5150 ft.
