C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) 2020-Jul-18 Michael Rosolina

The comet was naked eye here tonight after it got dark enough (~9:50 EDT). Using my 12x36's and comparing it to iota Uma (mag 3.1), I estimated the m1= 3.0, DC= 7/, tail was 2.5*. With my 15x70 binoculars the tail was at least 4.5*. By 10:10 EDT, the comet had disappeared behind a cloud bank.

Here is a single unprocessed frame from a set of exposures I took. The pair of stars closest to the comet are kappa and iota Uma. The lights are on wind turbines on top of that 4000 foot mountain. Canon T5i, 14mm, f/2.8, 10 secs.
