C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) 2020-Jul-16 Mark Shapiro

When I got to my NW viewing spot, there was a far off thunderhead on the horizon flashing now and then. The comet was barely perceptible naked eye. I estimated magnitude (unfortunately and disappointingly) as perhaps +3. Maybe when it gets higher out of the murk it will appear brighter, but that may be a false hope... but it did look nice in both binoculars and the tail is hanging in. Prettily located near Iota UMa and Kappa UMa and will be closer even tonight.
 
I took 52 shots with the SONY DSC-HX400V at 0.6 seconds. Here are the only two I'll show (most are garbage). One with the cloud lightning and one without. If only I had a good camera and a tripod...etc...
