C/2022 K2 PanSTARRS
So I had to give K2 another go after watching everyone having so much fun imaging as the comet proceeds southward through Scorpius. I moved my equipment to the very edge of the granite dome my cabin is perched on, and there I was able to image K2 as it set between several peaks of the Eastern Sierra Mountains in California USA. The sky was surprisingly steady and transparent on the 19th (not so much last night). Full resolution can be found here:https://astrob.in/7mkgdd/0/

I've included a number of images in addition to the full framed version, to include an inverted color, annotated to show the 34 degree tilt and the much debated use of four different versions of HDRMT preformed on the "cometonly" image in PixInsight at Full resolution (SEE side bar on each panel for details).

Very interesting to note that the jet like structures as seen in the HDRMT panels are now angled from the comet's orbit and now has a more sun directed alignment. Real or artifact you can decide. (Here is what Juan Conejero has to say about my use of HDRMT on comets thus far...https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?threads/use-of-hdrmt-for-comet-images.18872/
Best of imaging to all!
Dan
