67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko 2022-Apr-27 Dan Bartlett

Windy unstable seeing with good transparency I though I'd image 67P for the final time (maybe), this time around. Although sitting at ~14.5 magnitude, the tail continues to surprise. The comet looks dusty to me, and the stars bloated due to seeing conditions.

I've included the comet integration mono version showing the extent of the tail in my 34 x 180seconds of stacking. An idea how PixInsight's comet alignment process will align the comet from each exposure, leaving the stars trailed. Choosing your desired settings in the Integration process can minimize the star trails (never really prefect) and produce a comet combined image with star trail remnants. I was surprised at the length and shape of the tail when I first saw the comet-only integration of 67P/ C-G while over 2 A.U. away from us.
